Whomever thinks women don't sell must also believe that sex doesn't sell cuz the hypersexualization of women for profit is pretty much the entire staple of women's fashion industry. made to appeal to men and women so women will buy whatever makes them more sexually appealing to the "male gaze". Yeah that guy needs an education on humans lol

This talk about female characters definitely has an interesting point... I feel like an assassin's creed game SOLELY focused on a female protag would be FIRE! Women just have a better aesthetic to be assassins than men and fit the role.

Okay but this is making me really question Ninjago's "magic" system. Like some powers you're born with but also magic is a completely separate thing from Elemental Powers. In earlier seasons the ninja's power was dependent on using elemental weapons to channel said power, but after they unlocked their true potentials (and after some very confusing Lloyd-related stuff involving a bell) they can usually use them independently. But also if Lloyd lost his power they did too, but also not in later seasons? And also why the heck are four specific elements the only ones tied to Lloyd? AND ALSO HOW COME JAY USES WIND IN SEASON 2!? Plus Ninjago has ACTUAL MAGIC USERS like Clouse or Aspheera, and a ton of weapons used to harness or augment and elemental master's power. Like okay this makes no sense any more. AND ALSO ZANE. WHAT THE HECK. APPARENTLY you can just GIVE your power to a ROBOT and it'll function just like any other elemental master!? AND HE HAS PROPHETIC DREAMS!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Very different fro the version I read growing up. Pygmalion was being courted by all the women in his village but was too devoted to his craft, upsetting their mothers who prayed to Aphrodite to force him to marry one of heir daughters and be a proper man. Aphrodite visits Pyg, who asks to make one final sculpture before settling down, with Aphrodite as the muse. When he finished, Aphrodite arrived and asked him to choose, and since he knew he couldn’t pick Aphrodite, he chose the statue, and asked Aphrodite to turn him to stone to be with her forever. Instead when he kisses the statue Aphrodite brings her to life and gives her the name Galatea and they live happily ever after giving regular offerings to Aphrodite. A lot less basement dweller cringe in that version.

"Queen Medb is a big ol' meanie." On the bright side though, she's later killed by having a piece of cheese slung at her head.

One of my biggest problems with writing "what you know" is people experience things differently. A good example of this writing someone with anxiety. When I write a character with anxiety or having an anxiety attack I write them how I feel in that moment. So my biggest thing is I may write what I know, but for someone else that is completely wrong and that is biggest fear everytime
